Juan Martinez, LCSW, Administrative Director, has worked at Montefiore Medical Center for over twenty years. A graduate of Fordham University’s Graduate School for Social Services, he began his career working in a Ryan White funded study in Montefiore’s Opioid Treatment Program and continued to expand his clinical and administrative experience in the Substance Abuse Care Management program with University Behavioral Associates. Mr. Martinez has been the Clinical Director of several OASAS licensed programs, including a Chemical Dependency, Outpatient Withdrawal, and an Opioid Treatment Program. Currently, he oversees the Division of Substance Abuse, the second largest substance abuse treatment program in New York State. The program provides Opioid Treatment, integrated primary care services, psychiatry, outpatient chemical dependency treatment and several research and service grants in three Wellness Centers in the Bronx. In 2019, the programs served over 3,500 unique patients and provided over 600,000 unique visits. The Montefiore Wellness Centers have been recognized as a model program by the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and have hosted international addiction providers from the Ukraine, Vietnam, and Kenya. Mr. Martinez has been a member of the COMPA board since October 2019.
