COMPA ANNOUNCES NEW STATE-OF-ART ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER IN MIDTOWN MANHATTAN

— Elevate360 to Offer Mobile App Providing 24/7 Relapse Prevention Tools

Plus Comprehensive Employment-Friendly Outpatient Care —

(New York, New York – October 17, 2018) The Coalition of Medication-Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates of New York State (COMPA) today announced the launch of a new member, Elevate360, an outpatient addiction treatment center in Midtown Manhattan.  Elevate360 utilizes science-based techniques to provide patients with treatment for alcohol and substance use disorders, including overuse of pain medication.  Through a partnership with CHESS Health, Elevate360 offers a proprietary mobile app that provides relapse prevention tools and individualized content that enable patients and their care team to be connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Every 7 hours, someone dies of a drug overdose in New York City, according to the New York City Health Department.Despite the staggering death toll, statistics show just 1 in 10 people with a substance use problem will engage in specialty care for substance use issues.  In response to the pressing need to close the gap between the need for treatment and the provision of treatment options that attract patients from all walks of life, Elevate360 developed a welcoming treatment center using a private practice model.  Located at 369 Lexington Avenue at 41stStreet (two blocks from Grand Central Station), this private facility provides care before and after work hours and during lunchtime to ensure that treatment doesn’t interfere with employment for those who prefer to continue to work during recovery.

“As we continue to battle the opioid epidemic, both as a nation and a state, providing patients with 24/7 access to help is an essential next step in addiction treatment and overdose prevention,“ said Allegra Schorr, president of COMPA. “We congratulate Elevate360 in its efforts to offer the most comprehensive, immediately accessible care possible.”

Patients engage in multiple evidence-based group and individual therapies such as motivational interviewing and the community reinforcement approach to achieve and maintain recovery.  In addition, psychiatry services and medication are available through onsite collaboration to facilitate medication assisted treatment which includes buprenorphine and injectable naltrexone,

in keeping with the consensus best-practice approach to addiction treatment advocated by COMPA. Finally, Elevate360 offers all patients the Connections mobile app, which features tools that have been noted by CHESS Health to decrease relapse by 31% and to decrease severity of relapse by 50%.

Dr. Sarah Church, Founder and Executive Director of Elevate360, stated, “We have made a commitment to our patients that we will seek out and bring them the most effective techniques and tools to help them achieve their goals.  In keeping with that promise, we hired doctoral level psychologists trained in scientifically proven therapies and we chose technology backed by significant research to show that it is highly effective.”

More on 24/7 Support

To help avoid relapse, the therapists and patients at Elevate360 program high-risk locations –places where the patient used to drink or use drugs — into the Connections mobile app.  If the patient goes within 100 yards of a high-risk location, the patient receives an alert on their phone which states that they are in a high-risk situation and offers them predetermined motivating content such as a video of themselves talking about how bad things had gotten before they entered treatment.  The therapist is also alerted that the patient is in a high-risk area so she can reach out to the patient for a check-in, or can discuss it in the next therapy session. The Connections app also provides access to helpful tools including a library of recovery content, a locator for nearby treatment and meetings, medication and appointment reminders, and a customizable helpline.
