Allegra Schorr serves as President of the Coalition of Medication Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates (COMPA). Ms. Schorr has over twenty-five years of experience in delivering high quality, values-oriented healthcare and substance use treatment services. Ms. Schorr is an owner and Vice President of West Midtown Medical Group, an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), an outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program and a primary care facility. All three co-located and fully integrated programs meet the rigorous national accreditation standards of the Joint Commission. Through her efforts, West Midtown Medical Group became the first opioid treatment program to dispense Buprenorphine in an OTP setting in New York State and one of the few programs in the country to deliver co-located, integrated and comprehensive primary care in an OTP.
Ms. Schorr represents New York State as a Board member of the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD), was Conference Chair of the 2018 National AATOD Conference, and serves on a number of City, State and National Advisory Committees and Workgroups focused on policy initiatives and administrative issues.
Among these, Ms. Schorr serves on the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Region II Capacity Building Advisory Coalition, the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS)/Shatterproof State Advisory Committee, and the New York City Regional Planning Consortium Advisory Board. In 2018, Ms. Schorr was appointed to the New York State Governor’s Pain Management Steering Committee.
Ms. Schorr has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and expects to complete her MS in Healthcare Management at Rutgers University-School of Health Professionals this fall. Ms. Schorr was profiled in the June 2019 issue of Addiction Treatment Forum as one of Today’s Leaders.
